Aging Out Youth

Support during a pivotal transition

According to a federal survey conducted by the US Children’s Bureau in 2018, Ohio ranks in the bottom 10% of the United States in child welfare outcomes.  Ohio’s youth aging out of the foster care system without connection to a forever family are less likely to finish high school, obtain a GED, get a job, or enroll in school, and more likely to be involved in the justice system. At Hope Bridge, this information doesn’t discourage us, it emboldens us.

We’re working to positively impact these outcomes by building a program designed to intentionally support and wraparound youth aging out of the foster care system without connection to a forever family? How might their lives be changed?

We are currently looking for individuals interested in mentoring the young adults we’re connected to and any person or business interested in linking arms with Hope Bridge as an employment partner or housing partner. Email info@hopebridgeohio.org or complete our Volunteer Network form to get involved in this space.

Are you preparing to age out of the foster care system, or have you recently aged out and are looking for support?
